Allow us to introduce ourselves…
We are two developers with too much time on our hands (paws? vins?) because of the current situation in the world. Probably just like you (at some point in time) we are in lockdown. But instead of burning out on our day-jobs we decided to start (yet another!) side-project.
With this project we primarily want to learn more about smart contracts, NFTs, blockchain, pixels, primates and fishies. But with your support, who knows where this might go! We might have an idea or two 😏

Besides all this we started looking into crypto and trading for a bit several years ago. We’re still doing that today, but with the pandemic we had some extra time on our hands and decided to not just be on the consuming part, but also actually create something awesome with it!
Why we do it
- We believe in a decentralized world and want to be a part of this (hopefully the start into our long blockchain journey) *
- NFTs are hip and happening and seem like a nice way to make first steps in smart contracts, blockchains, etc.
- We already developed a pixelized game in the past (we’re developers, lots of side-projects…). One possible continuation of this project might be to combine these: a game and these NFTs and transforming them into a ‘‘real’’ Apes vs. Whales
- A part of the sale goes to charity **
- Inspired to do something else with our time by the popular project Pixls, HashMasks, CryptoPunks, etc.
- We need money, ape in already!
* Decentralized
This project is born out of our believe in a decentralized world. In this world everybody can interact with each other directly, without the help of the so-called middle man. This will be more transparent and cheaper. Although the current gas prices don’t really reflect that yet…
However, This is easier said than done. But with blockchain technology developing at lightspeed, we are heading in that direction pretty quick!
OK great, so we believe in decentralization, but we’re still just two developing monkeys (see what we did there…?). We’re stuck in the “classic” system. As developers with fulltime jobs we definitely can’t complain, but we’d like to aim high and achieve more.

Bad for environment
We realize this NFT adventure is probably not the best way to support apes and whales in real life. Each time you mint an NFT a cute fluffy bunny-puppy dies :(
Therefore, as part of our mission we want to compensate for our actions.
You guys rock! How will you do that?!
That’s something we’re still trying to figure out. It could be as simple as just donating some percentage to WWF (or the likes) and/or plant some trees. In that case it’s all up to you how much we actually donate, so buy-buy-buy!
It should be clear by now that we love to break with traditional patterns, so we’re also up for more unique and playful ways to contribute back to mother Nature.
